PAPER / ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The theme of the 2016 Istanbul conference focuses on the aspect of “inclusiveness in Design”. Having described inclusivity as “the attitude of exploring ideas and the making of a work through many more points of contemplation...” Antoniades (1992) underscores the significance of  “the idea of symphony” and the inclusion of  people from various fields and disciplines, diverse points of views and design methods and  various channels in design process to generate “all-inclusive creativity”  Today while we are  living in a more complex system-based world, design studies has been conducted  in a different sense of inclusivness.  Design is expected to be sensitive to social, cultural and environmental context more than ever.

Papers and presentations that include but not limited to approaches and applications of current trends of design and its nature of inclusiveness with allied disciplines (architecture, interior, landscape, media arts, etc.) are invited to foster and contribute to the discussion of the conference theme. Specific topics may address following subjects:

- Design & allied disciplines,
- Design & cross disciplinary contexts,
- Sustainability & built environment,
- Communication & design education,
- Investigation & representation,
- Education & practice,
- Analysis & interpretation,
- Heritage & architecture,
- Interior & exterior,
- Analog & digital convergence,
- 3D & visualization,
- Parametric modeling & fabrication,
- Urban issues & built environment,
- Building technology & environment
- Moving images & time-based media,
- Interactive environments & applications,
- Design & societal context,
- Changing dynamics & challenges,
- Design issues & developing nations

Submission Process
The paper submission is a two stage submission, first summarized abstract, and then a full paper. The abstracts will be blind reviewed by peer reviewers.  Accepted abstracts then will be submitted in full papers.
